Chapter 8: Golden strings of the heart.
Lee, Sakura and Gai were sitting on a bench near the outskirts of Konoha. Gai and Lee were silent and still but Sakura couldn’t help but fidget a little. He mind was buzzing with thoughts and questions. Who is Lee father? Is he a ninja? Why have Lee avoided him for so long? Sakura couldn’t hold it in any longer.
Sakura: …So…um Lee. What is your father like? ^__^ Is he nice like you?
Lee: Ewwwwwww…….
Gai: He’s nice but more arrogant then me and Lee times 10!
Sakura: …Oh…Is he a ninja too?
Gai: Yes he is. One of the best in the leaf village but, he left.
Sakura: O_o You mean he’s a rogue ninja!?
Gai: Almost. He may have left but he is still a loyal ninja of the leaf village. He lives in the Tea village and does missions there. Then send he reports…he swore never to tell the secrets of Konoha and…well, that’s one thing I’ll give him. He never goes back on his word…yup. I mean he’s more of a stickler about never breaking a promise then me…
Sakura: He sounds like a great guy. ^___^
Lee: Pff…yeah right…He is also greedy, selfish, snobby and only cares about himself!
Sakura: O_o Gee! Where did THAT come from? He can’t be that bad….

A tall man was heading for them.
Sakura: O_O *Jaw drops to the floor*
The man had beautiful black hair the waved down to his shoulders. He was pale and very pretty for grown man. His eyes resembled Lee’s but there was a more laid back look in them. The man was also thin but muscular and wasn’t wearing normal ninja clothes…he had on a tan and green kimono top and tan ninja pants, no ninja sandals either but ninja tabi! (Or split toe ninja boots.) He still had bushy brows but that looked good on him for some reason and to top it all off he had a golden ninja head protector! Taken as a whole this man was just plane generous!
Sakura: O////O Oh my…Lee…you never mention he was so young…he looks like he in his mid 20’s…*Covering a giggle*
Lee: Grrrr…
Gai: He is in his 30’…and his name is…GRR GOLD!
Sakura: Gold?

Gold looked to Lee. A smile graced his face and he headed towards Lee. He lightly put his arms around Lee and hugged him.
Gold: You…I missed you Lee-kun. It has been 10 years since you have been home. I let you come here to become a ninja. I heard you are a Chunin now. *Rubs Lee’s head* I am very surprised and proud of you! I am a Chunin as well…you should know enough to be an impressive ninja by now. Will you come home and be my son again?
Lee: Father…I cannot.
Lee lightly shoved Gold off of him and turned away from him. A look of hurt was in the man’s eyes. Gai and Sakura looked on.
Sakura: *To Gai* What should Lee do?
Gai: *Looking away* It’s his choice now.
Gold walked up to Lee and grabbed his shoulders and pulled him a little closer.
Gold: Please Lee! I promise I will be a better father.
Lee: *Grits teeth and slaps Gold’s hands away* NO! I will not forgive you for all that you did!! *Runs off*

Lee ran passed Sakura and Gai. Gai looked the other way, but Sakura tried to grab Lee, but to no prevail…Lee was long gone.
Sakura: LEE!!! *Looks to Gai* WELL! AREN’T YOU GOING TO GET HIM!!!!!?
Gai: *Sigh* He won’t go far. He just needs to sit and think. *Walks up to Gold* So…what do you want with Lee?
Gold: Shut up Gai-san! I really did mean what I said. *Sigh* Darn it…I will go look for him. *Walking around, poking bushes and trees with a stick* LEE! *Kicks a rock* LEE!
Sakura: …Uhh…
Gai: Just let him go. He was never very good at searching…I will wait here if you want to look of Lee.

At the waterfalls, Lee was sitting by a big tree eating something.
